We are the quest.
T.S. Eliot once wrote
A cold coming we had of it,
Just the worst time of the year
For a journey, and such a long journey:
The ways deep and the weather sharp,
The very dead of winter.’
And the camels galled, sorefooted, refractory,
That this was all folly.
We hear the word “Arise shine for your light has come.
We are called to be vision, restoration, return, exile, participant and work of God.
This is the time of tribute, God’s favour. This is the time to find wisdom, discover divine teaching, ordained for blessing.
We lift up our eyes and look around, to be divine light, held in tension. Light and thick darkness. We come to the light to be God’s people to welcome the outside. We come to the light to be consonant and filled with grace.
The mystery is made know to us. God is God, to reconcile, to redeem humanity. To redeem creation, sending divine will. Our voice conceived with God voice.
Where is the child? The magi follow their stars, chart the course, finding comets, in the stars and planets, in light beyond and light within. They left for their own country by another road.
We leave the familiar road to blaze the trail of the new road. We worship with the wise, the magi, the travelers, then and new. We seek the new born, king in the signs and prophet words. We discover gift of God, promise, gift of joy in the wise home of another way.
