Lent is the season of 40 days (not including Sundays) where we are asked to reflect on our spiritual direction, explore our faith, before Easter. This year, at Manor Road United, our focus will be on the environment. We will explore what it means to be a part of Creation, and how we can use this time to be stewards of the earth.

The next six weeks will include a book study, worship services, youth and children events, and prayers, all related the environment. These include:

Ash Wednesday March 6th: Service is at Glebe Road United, 7pm. We also will have Ashes-to-Go, at Yonge and Eglinton, from 11:30-12:30.

Blessing of the Animals, March 24th: During our regular service (10:30), we will be blessing pets of all kinds. Please bring your pet, a picture, stuffed animal, or other important creature in your life.

Book Study: This season, we are reading Grounded: Finding God in the World—A Spiritual Revolution,by Diana Butler Bass. There will be online discussions on Facebook and at this link. We will also meet twice during Lent to talk in person about finding God and nature.
